Sari
Purple and Pink with zigzag patterned borders
This sari was purchased in Shringverpur Dham, a sacred and historical pilgrimage site in Uttar Pradesh known as the capital of Nishadraj Guha, the King of Fishermen and devoted friend of Lord Rama from the Ramayana. It is the place where Lord Rama Sita and Lakshmana spent their first night and crossed the holy River Ganga at the start of their 14-year exile
A sari is a traditional, unstitched garment from the Indian subcontinent, consisting of fabric draped across the body. Typically wrapped around the waist with one end, then thrown over the shoulder, it is widely worn across India for both everyday life and formal occasions. A sari is worn with a blouse, or Choli, a tight, cropped top worn underneath. The petticoat is a drawstring skirt worn underneath to provide a base and to secure the fabric. The Pallu is the highly decorative end of the sari which is draped over the shoulder.

The Indian paisley, known as the buta or kairi, symbolizes life, eternity, and fertility. Its teardrop shape originally represented a growing seed, a cypress tree, or a raw mango. Deeply rooted in regional mythology, this historic motif continues to serve as an enduring cultural emblem in India.
