Men’s Lungi
Bright Pink, orange, yellow, tie-dyed
This lungi’s origin in Madurai, the home of the sacred Meenakshi Amman Temple, links it to spiritually significant, solid colored traditional temple lungis. Its joyous, multi-colored tie-dyed links it to more contemporary fashion and design.
It was possibly created for the domestic tourist market, as Madurai is a central hub for both religious tourism and handloom textile production.
A lungi is a traditional, tube-shaped garment worn around the waist. Resembling a sarong, it is worn by Indian men as casual, lounging, or sleepwear. Favored across the subcontinent for its breathability and comfort in hot, humid climates.

a bit more about lungis:
· Design: It is a large loop of cloth that wraps around the waist and falls to the ankles. It can be knotted in the front or folded and tucked securely at the waist.
· Fabric & Patterns: They are made of lightweight, breathable cotton. Common designs include vibrant plaids, checks, or stripes, though plain white versions are also very popular, particularly in South India.
· Versatility: The length can easily be adjusted by folding the top edge over, allowing the wearer to hike it up to their knees while working or walking.
