Commission from the weaving studio of Nourredine and his son Mohammed Bouguedach in Fes, Morocco. This large, cavernous weaving studio is buried deep in the Fez medina, opposite the Tijani Shrine. I picked out the thread colors, Mohammed designed the strip sequences. I discovered this studio through the intrepid Moroccan craft specialist and artist Jess Stevens, who introduces visitors to the crafts of Morocco through her arts and cultural organization, Culture Vultures.
